and-cutting on glass roots its history in the
days of ancient Rome Joseph Anthony
Callari, a second generation Italian-American Master Glass Engraver,
has been cutting glass for nearly 30 years. He continues this time honored
tradition and still cuts glass with a stone wheel, along with diamond
bur and
sand-blasting technique.
Every cut
is individually made by the hand of the artist and no two cuts are
ever exactly alike. Each finished piece is unique and a product of the
craftman's hands.
Mr. Callari's award winning work can be seen in his own New York store
as
well as during promotional events in major departments stores including
Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Bergdorf
Goodman,
Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Michael C. Fina.
His creations
have been presented to a number of New York elite including
Steve Forbes, Rudy Guiliani, Isaac Mizrahi, and Senator Hillary Rodham
Clinton.
He is proud to be known as New York's Glass Engraver.
